Rooster Games is coming & look who's participating!
The Rooster Games Student Orientation Meeting was held this morning with Mrs. O'Neill and Mrs. Kilday. We are very excited about the number of students participating this year! Students in grades 3-6 have been encouraged to read as many of the Rooster Games books as possible to prepare. We look forward to Tuesday, April 11th for a fun and exciting day of literary competition! The games will take place during the school day from 9:00 to 11:00 and 1:15 to 2:45. Please call the office if you would like to volunteer to help for any portion of the day ...the more the merrier! Check out our Rooster Game webpage at: Rooster Games
Metcalf Creative Arts Night
All Metcalf and Wawaloam families are invited to Creative Arts Night at Metcalf School on Thursday, March 30th from 5:00 to 7:00. This year's theme is, "Ocean State of Mind". You will be able to purchase framed student artwork (grades 3-6), listen to the advanced and jazz band, enjoy a performance by our 3rd and 4th grade chorus, and even visit our Grade 6 Cafe! Don't forget to look for the free poetry, crafts, and the photo booth station as well. There will also be Metcalf Title I and Title III activities taking place in the library. WOW!! This is certainly an evening you don't want to miss! Please see the Artwork Pre-Order form at the following link: Framed Student Artwork Pre-Order Form
PARCC Schedule
Please note that PARCC testing for students in grades 3-6 will begin after April vacation. PARCC is the state assessment that all public schools are required to administer once a year per the Rhode Island Department of Education. As educators, we use the state assessment results, along with other information, to adjust our curriculum as needed, design student programming, and make specific budget requests. All these decisions directly affect the educational experience your child has in the classroom on a daily basis. I, along with the entire faculty and staff at Metcalf, appreciate your support as we work together to continuously improve the educational experience for our students.
Sessions are scheduled to take place during a 9:00-11:00 window on the days outlined below for each grade level. Please note that a testing window is given to provide teachers with flexibility in scheduling and that actual tests do not last the entire time. Again, I thank you kindly for your continued support.
Grade 3: May 1, 2, 3 10, 11, 12, 15
Grade 4: April 26, 27, 28, May 4, 5, 8, 9
Grade 5: May 1, 2, 3, 10, 11, 12, 15
