June News

Thank You to our PTA!
I would like to thank our EWG PTA members for all your support and creative ideas during the school year.  It has been wonderful to work with such a kind and devoted group of volunteers to bring so many fun and exciting programs to our children!  Whether you made phone calls, prepared materials, chaired committees, volunteered to help at events, or came up with innovative ideas...the faculty and staff at Metcalf appreciates your time and effort to help make Metcalf such a dynamic place!

Music Educator Award
Please join me in congratulating Ms. Stacey Place on being a quarterfinalist for the
National Music Educator Award!
Ms. Place is one of only 197 music teachers from across the country being recognized for her outstanding contribution to music students everywhere! While teaching general music, chorus, and band, Stacey demonstrates her expertise and enthusiasm for all things musical!  But her contribution to our school does not stop there!!  As the leader of our School Culture Team, Stacey is responsible for community outreach, beginning and end-of-year activities, and educational programming that falls outside of our regular curriculum!  Thank you to the students that took part in the videos and projects that helped Ms. Place achieve this very special and prestigious honor!
We don't know how you do it all, Stacey!
We are lucky to have you at Metcalf...and we are so very proud of you!

End-of-Year Activities with our Specialists!
On Wednesday, June 21st, the Metcalf Specialists will be hosting a special field day for all Metcalf School students.  There will be a bouncy obstacle course, Del's Lemonade, and assorted fun games. Students should wear their Feinstein shirts, sneakers, and sunblock.  We will be outside for approximately one hour.  Thank you to Stacey Place, Maureen Unsworth, Kristen Allen, Sheri O'Neil, Sharon LaFrenay, and Alicia Skaggs for all your hard work putting together a wonderful day for our students to enjoy! Thank you to Mr. Feinstein for funding such a fun way to end our school year!!
